Visual Communication Publication

Overview:

This project is to design an outstanding piece showcasing and celebrating graduating seniors’ work in the Visual Communication Design department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Idea:

The publication book themed on digital distortion brilliantly symbolizes the chaotic, non-linear creative journey of graduate visual communication design students, with glitches serving as metaphors for the trials and errors inherent in the design process. This theme not only challenges conventional design aesthetics by finding beauty in imperfection but also serves as a visual representation of growth, where each distortion marks a critical step in the creative journey. Moreover, by reflecting on the symbiotic relationship between designers and digital tools, the book underscores the importance of creativity and human resilience. Incorporating personal reflections and disrupting traditional layouts, it engages readers deeply, fostering a sense of community and shared experience, making it a meaningful exploration of the creative process.
