Sirens
Overview:
This project is to design a serial piece where the typography expresses the language within the text: its sound, structure and meaning, as well as the subjective interpretation of the same.
Source: Sirens, Episode 11 of Ulysses, by James Joyce: the first 63 lines
Idea:
The novel is full of humor and chaotic languages. I recreated this episode and made it contain lots of visual impact. I combined vibrant colors and different typefaces to show the chaos of the scene, I used big type to emphasis the loudness of the languages. The booklet is printed in 4x5 inches, which makes the elements inside more pop out to create another visual impact.
